Three cars, ninety-seven years between them, all still running.
A vintage car is the one detail at a Udaipur wedding that nobody has to be told to photograph. Ours are not props parked for the shot — they are registered, insured, road-legal vehicles that start, drive and carry a couple from the porch to the mandap under their own power.
The collection runs to a 1928 Ford Model A in cream and maroon with the roof down, a 1965 Mercedes-Benz 190D in deep red, and a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280S in ivory — the one that photographs best against the white marble at Udaivilas. All three are chauffeur-driven, by drivers in traditional Rajasthani attire if you want them to be.
Keeping cars of this age working is a slow and expensive business. Parts are made rather than bought, the maintenance is constant, and an engagement is limited in distance for the car’s sake. That is reflected in the rate, and it is the reason we are careful about the bookings we accept.

Hiring a vintage car in Udaipur
Udaipur and old cars go together, and not by accident. The Mewar royal garage kept one of the best collections in India, much of which is now the Vintage Car Museum on Garden Hotel Road. Anyone planning a wedding here has seen those cars and wants something like them in the frame. There are only a handful of privately owned, genuinely running vintage cars available for hire in the city, which is why dates go early.
What they are actually good for
A baraat entry over a short distance. A bidaai from the venue gate. A pre-wedding shoot where the car sits in the frame for two hours. A period film sequence. What they are not good for is a long transfer — a 1928 Ford is not the car to take from the airport, and we will say so rather than take the booking and risk the day.
Decoration
Fresh flowers, arranged on the morning, to whatever scheme the wedding is following. Marigold and rose are traditional; white and pale pink photograph better against the ivory Mercedes. We fix the arrangement to the car in a way that does not damage the paint, which is not a given with the cheaper decorators.
Booking
Peak wedding dates in December and January need two to three months’ notice. Photoshoots and film work are easier to accommodate at short notice outside those months. Every vintage booking is confirmed with a written note of the car, the hours, the decoration and the standby arrangement.

Roughly ₹20,000 to ₹35,000 for the engagement, depending on the car, the hours and the decoration. Floral arrangements start at ₹3,500. Every quote is confirmed in writing.
Not under its own power — we keep these cars within Udaipur and about 40 km out, for the vehicle’s sake. For a venue further away we can transport the car on a carrier and have it ready on site. That is priced separately.
A mechanic travels with the car on every wedding-day booking, and a modern luxury car is kept on standby at no extra cost. In practice we have not needed it often, but a wedding is not the day to be optimistic.
Yes. Half-day holds with the car on location and the chauffeur standing by start at around ₹15,000. Period film and advertising work is welcome; we will advise which Udaipur locations these cars can realistically reach.
If you want him to be. Rajasthani attire with a safa is the usual request for weddings; formal whites for film and corporate work.
